“ As the Three-Fifths Compromise constituted a communiqué of the compromissory agreement between delegates from the Northern and Southern states at the United States Constitutional Convention (1787), it also deemed people of African descent (slaves) to be counted as three-fifths human. The compromise purportedly determined taxation and representation for the House of Representatives. Notwithstanding the aforementioned, the Thirteen – Fifteenth Amendments, among others, were supposedly ratified to rectify the aforesaid to which we were thought to be counted as Five-Fifths human. However, the Electoral College – a compromise – has also been deemed as compromised and reflective of the 1787 construct. Nevertheless, whether it was in 1619, 1621, 1787, 1830, 1846, 1865, 1921, 1967, 2000, 2017, or 2020, America – and our faith in it – has been compromised.
